Vineyard Ellenzer Altarberg The vineyard Ellenzer Altarberg describes the acreage between Ellenz and Poltersdorf and above the two districts. Grape varieties such as Riesling, Kerner, Müller-Thurgau and Pinot Noir (Spätburgunder) are planted here. Due to its location at the elongated inner curve of the Mosel-river, the slope is moderate and machines can be used for the work in the vineyards. However, the sugar content of the grapes at the harvest does not reach the values of the steeper slopes Ellenzer Kurfürst and Rüberberger Domherrenberg due to the lower irradiation angle of the sun and the sandy soil consisting of river deposits.
