Guest-ticket (Gäste-Ticket) in the district of Cochem-Zell

Since year 2012 we offer in solidarity with other accommodation facilities an opportunity to use a guest-ticket for free usage of busses in the district of Cochem-Zell and free usage of local trains between Koblenz and Traben-Trarbach:

With the well-developed network of buses and local trains in public transport you can reach quickly and with chauffeur numerous leisure-time activities and events on the Mosel, in the Eifel and in the Hunsrück. Ellenz-Poltersdorf is due to the geographical location in the centre of the district an ideal vacation location.

For example you can can do a hiking or cycling tour with different start and end points, without having to rely on the organization of a car transfer. Transportation of bicycles is possible on weekdays after 9 clock, on Sundays and public holidays all day for free if required capacity is given in the vehicle.

Please note the following instructions:

• The guest-ticket allows free public transport in the district of Cochem-Zell and districts beside if they are part of the local transportion network Rhein-Mosel (Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Mosel VRM). Trains along the Mosel-river can be used between Koblenz and Traben-Trarbach. Excluded from free usage is a busline in Cochem with connection to castle Cochem (Reichsburg Shuttle).
  

• When leaving the area of local transportion network Rhein-Mosel (Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Mosel VRM), for example when traveling by train from Cochem to Trier, you need to pay for a ticket for the section of the trip beside the area of local transportion network Rhein-Mosel.
  

• The guest-ticket is part of our offer for overnight accommodation and for free since included in the price for accommodation. We will provide you the guest-ticket when you arrive and ticket needs to be filled with your name, your arrival and your departure date. For identification purposes, you should be able to show a valid passport with photo.
  

The guest-ticket is introduced with additional information and maps on the website guest-ticket (Gäste-Ticket) in the district Cochem-Zell.

The bus station in Ellenz is 200 m or 4 minutes walk away from our house. Bus line no 711 shuttles between Cochem and Bullay/Alf on the left river bank of the Mosel. In Cochem, Eller and Bullay you can switch from bus to train. In Cochem and Bullay nodes for bus routes in all directions are located.

For the timetable search in the web at site www.bahn.de you have to specify the start or end point of your trip "Ellenz Mitte”. As an alternative, the composite timetable of the district Cochem-Zell offers an overview of public transportation possibilities.

In addition to the free public transport in the district of Cochem-Zell several enterprises offer customers with the guest ticket reduced service prices: For example the ruin castle Metternich Beilstein, the outdoor swimming pool Ellenz-Polterdorf, the former Bundesbank bunker Cochem, the chair lift Cochem and the Reichsburg Cochem (extract of enterprises which offer reduced service prices with the guest ticket in year 2023).
